Rufina Fonseca & Vidalina Muñoz
“Before I was washing for eight people three times a week and sometimes I had to go up the hill to the cistern-water head, when there was water shortage. Now I need about 20 minutes and I can do other things while the machine is washing. Also, my husband and sons wash their own clothes. ” Rufina Fonseca, Colombia
Vidalina Muñoz is 49 years old and manages a nursery of ornamental and fruit plants which she sells locally and in Bogotá every fortnight in the Farmers Markets. She has two daughters and a son. She also cares for her new-born grandson three times a week. Sometimes she has workers who help with the crops and she provides food for them too. She cooks for twelve adults and four children on a daily basis.
